Welcome to Starlight Dental! We hope that you and your families are all keeping well during the Covid 19 pandemic. For your protection, we have implemented enhanced safety measures that meet and often exceed all required guidelines. Here are some of the changes you may notice during your next Dental visit:
Pre-Screening questions will be asked over the phone and before your appointment
Temperature checks will be done upon arrival to the office
Patients will need to bring their own masks for their appointments
Hand sanitization will be performed upon entry and exit from the clinic. Hand Sanitizers have also been placed strategically throughout the office.
Each room has been equipped with Medical Grade Air Filtration Units (Surgically Clean Air, Dyson) that remove more than 99% of viruses, bacteria and other particles.
Flight Defender Aerosol Evacuation units have been placed in operatories. These high power vacuum systems remove bacteria, viruses, aerosols and allergens. These particles are filtered through a 3 stage Hepa filtration system which traps 99.97% of all particles. These particles are then disinfected by UV light treatment.
ULV fogging disinfection with Hypochlorous Acid. Hypochlorous Acid is a non-toxic chemical that is naturally produced by the human body. Hypochlorous acid is approximately 100x more effective than bleach at killing pathogens while being safe for human cells.
Enhanced PPE has been implemented including:
Enclosure of all operatories which are subjected to air purification before, during and after each appointment
Sneeze Guards have been placed in Reception areas
KN95 masks, 3M N95 masks, Level 3 Surgical masks
Honeywell and 3M Half Mask Respirator
Optrel PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator)
Surgical Gowns and Gloves
Face Shields
We look forward to seeing you soon!
How can Sleep Apnea be Treated?
The gold standard for Sleep Apnea treatment is a CPAP machine that uses positive pressure to keep the airway open. CPAP users must wear some type of facemask which is connected to the CPAP machine itself. Certain individuals may find these machines awkward to use and difficult to tolerate.
In mild to moderate cases, a dental appliance for sleep apnea can be made similar to a mouth guard in order to hold the airway open. The dental appliance works by holding your jaw in a more forward position in order to limit obstruction. These dental appliances can also be used as a snoring treatment. We offer free consultations so that you can discuss all the options available to you.
Bridges are made by reshaping the teeth on either side of a tooth space. Crowns are then fabricated that will fit over the reshaped teeth. Porcelain teeth are then attached to the crowns in order to replace the missing teeth. The dental bridge is then cemented into place. The bridges look just like your natural teeth and offer a great way to restore your smile.
Dental crown material typically consists of white or silver metal on the inside and white porcelain covering the outside. The outer white porcelain helps them blend seamlessly with the natural teeth. Tooth crown procedures usually take two appointments to complete. In the first appointment, the weakened tooth is prepared and a temporary crown is placed until the permanent one is ready. In the second appointment, the temporary crown is removed and the permanent crown is cemented.
Dental crown implants can also be used to replace missing teeth. We offer free consultations so that you can discuss all your options with Dr. Saggu
